Career Week:  Another exciting and new event upcoming. We are planning to have a career week to guide the students for their future choices. This will be a week-long event. Speakers who have various experiences will be visiting our school to speak with the students and answer their questions about career opportunities. It will be between February 26th-March 2nd. This event aims Grade 9-10-11-12.

PSAT: Starting from this year we will provide an opportunity for Grade 10 students to take PSAT exam. This is a great chance for students to practice for taking the SAT. It also gives free access to some career websites and scholarship opportunities.

SAT Dates: The next SAT date is March 10

Studying for the SAT for 20 hours on Official SAT Practice on Khan Academy® is associated with an average increase of 115 points from the PSAT/NMSQT® to the SAT. As of fall 2017, educators can view progress and practice for their classes and individual students using SAT practice coaching tools, making it easier than ever to support students preparing for the SAT.

Grades 10 Updates - PSAT Presentation for Students

Dear parents of grade 10,

We had a PSAT /SAT workshop which went well, on Friday during the PSHE time.
Here is what we did.
I asked them to write down the questions about SAT first. Then we made a list of main questions that everyone likes to know.  With a general approach, we covered all of them.

Some questions we covered:
- What is SAT?, When to take?, How long does it take? How many times a year? How to register?
What are the benefits of PSAT and SAT? How important is it for university applications and scholarships?
How can I get ready? How to register and find a seat? etc.

I also gave them a student guide and showed a couple of examples of how to use the guide.
For example,
- Can I use a calculator? If yes what are the types allowed?
- How long does each section take and how many questions are there?
- Can I bring a snack to the exam? etc.

There are some sample questions on the guide. I strongly suggest them to go over these questions to understand the SAT-style approach.

There is a practice test for PSAT. I will inform you when to take it.
Perhaps it will be one of the Saturday school session as it takes about three hours to complete the test.

Please let me know if you have further questions.
Best regards,
